At Rome, it was claimed Axis forces in the Sidi Rezegh zone of Libya have taken an additional 1,500 prisoners including Briga dier Reginald Miles of the New Zealand expeditionary force, a high command communique said today. (Miles is commandant of the headquarters of divisional artillery, first echelon, of the New Zealand expeditionary force.) The communique asserted that Italian torpedo planes had sunk a 5,000 ton British cruiser off Tobruk. Of fighting in Libya, the com munique said that Italians contin ued tenacious resistance against re newed British attacks in the Sollum and Sidi Omar zones. Finns Given Last Chance To Stop Soviet War. LONDON, Dec. 2 (®)—Informed sources today predicted that Brit ish declarations of war against Fin land, Romania and Hungary would come toward the end of the week. They said Finland had been given her last chance to cease attacking Russia. These sources indicated that Brit ish reluctance to declare war on Fin land had been overcome to a con siderable degree when Finland ad hered to the anti-comintern pact, especially in view of Prime Minister Churchill's warning several months ago that whoever marched with Hit ler was Britain's foe. REA Is Charged With Hoarding Copper Cable WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 (U.P)—The Rural Electrification Administration Was accused today of “hoarding” millions of pounds of copper cable despite the copper shortage resulting from defense production. The charge was made by Rep. Thomas D. Winter, Republican, Kansas, in the House late yester day when he introduced a resolu tion asking for a special House in vestigation of REA Winter said the REA cables were “cached in open Texas fields and were being held for duplication of transmission lines and generating plants to be energized two years hence in an area already served with cheap private power.
