The chief novelty of the evening was the OEiavian of a Gentleman, whom we have before feen to great advantage, and of courfe were fully prepared for a treat. The part of Odavian is very difficult to fupporr, and where we find it done tolerable «u ft ice to, we readily make every allowance for the attempt. Mr. Stanley appeared much frightened when he rufhes from the cave, but foon recovered himfelf, and in fome fcenes pidured the diftrefs of Odavian with exquifite feeling. His figure is genteel, but if he were lefs faftidioufly to copy the ftarts of an approved ador, he would by practice play more from nature.
