The senior softball team i overcame tremendous obstacles to gain the finals of the Playground Championship trailing Race St. by 7-0 after one-half inning, they displayed a tremendous batting attack to win 23-15. Highlight of the game was a. two run homer, out of the park, by winning pitcher Tony Crea. Excellent performances were also turned In by Lenny Hyman, Bod Lnda, Jack King, Joel Bornsteln, Dennis Cohen, Frank Margherito, Mike Ne-dick, Bill Saxon, and George Gonos. In the final series a* gainst Coe Ave., G. Washington barely lost the 1st game 13-10, won the second 14-13* and lost the final 13-8. Tills playoff had many exciting moments and all the members of the team played excellent baseball but— we'll win next year.
