Mr. Uriah Knowles ~ IClaimed By Death \Last Frida£— IMr. Uriah Knowles, aged citizen of Pavo, died at his home here very suddenly last Friday morning, Aug. 18. He had been in very feeble health for some time, but his-death came as a great shock to his family and friends.Mr. Knowles was nearly 78 years of age, having been bbrn in Wallis, N. C., on Oct. 18, 1855. He was married on May 30, 1884, to Miss Lee ^fanning,who preceeded him to the grave about four years ago.He is survived^ nine children, as follows: Mrs. A. R. Cannon, Mrs. Luc^‘ Duggar, Mrs. Lee Simmonaf Mrs. Annie Jor-dan an^ Midi Myrtice Knowles, of Pavo; Jps. C. A. Hiers, of Berlin; Mfs. Ellen Fitzgerald,of Chattjftiooga, Tenn.; Mr. Julius and Mr. Henry Knowles, of Thomasville. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, near Berlin.Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Eld. J. W. Rogers at Sardis church, in Colquitt county, where the body was buried by the side of that of his wife.
