Eugene Stone of Coppock was the victim of a shooting in the small town of Coppock about 5:15 p.m. Saturday when Bobby Davison, 15, brother of Stone’s ex-wife, shot at the victim from a rear upstairs window of the estranged wife's home. Bobby, a resident of Washing ton ,was apparently goaded into the shooting by a fear of Stone who had recently been convicted and fined in Henry county on charges of threatening the Davi son youth. In Car Stone, about 40, was sitting in his car in front of the Hesser Store talking with an uncle, who was sitting in front of the store building. Mrs. Stone's home is next to the store and provided the convenient location from which to fire the .22 caliber rifle. The bullet entered Stone’s face just below the right temple and travelled down the right cheek and into the neck. He was dis missed from Washington county hospital ready. The Henry county sheriff and three highway patrolmen were in Coppock several hours Saturday night investigating the shooting and arresting the youth. He is now in the Henry county jail and will be turned over to juvenile authorities. Fined $75 Stone, divorced from his wife about three years ago, lives in Coppock with his father, Willard Stone. Several days ago Stone was convicted in Henry county on charges of threatening the Davi son youth's life. He was fined 75 and costs of which $50 was reported as being suspended and Stone was released on a so-called peace bond. Davison, whose home is with his mother, Mrs. Grace Davison, in Washington, had been staying at the home of his sister in Cop pock,. Relatives here explained his presence in Coppock by saying that he was staying with his sis ter to “protect” her after she had had trouble with her former hus band. The Davisons formerly lived in Coppock.
