MISS VERA WILLOUGHBYGIVES BIRTHDAY PARTYThirty-five Voting People Enjoy !*«• triolic Gathering at Her Home Jn I tali way Avenue.Thirty-five friends were entertained by Miss Vera Willoughby at her home/ 546 Washington street, on Saturday evening, in honor of hereighteenth birthday anniversary. The house was prettily decorated in red, white and blue and the lawns and porches were lighted with Japanese j lanterns. Plans were made to serve | the refreshments on the lawns but | the rain made this impossible.. The (tables were decorated in the national i colors and the favors were smalt | American flags. Vocal and instru-I mental music, games and dancing j featured the gathering.Among those present were soldier boys from Camp Upton and Camp Diw Other guests were Miss Mae Welch, of Rahway; Miss Hassle Allen, of Plainfield; Miss Gladys Welch, of New* York; Miss Helen Ryan and Miss Ru Vac, of Cranford; Miss Madeline Sell, the Misses Lillian, Gertrude and Agnes Somers, of this town; Clark Ryan, of Cranford; Private Augustus Laurent, of Camp Dix; Joseph Laurent, Private Ferdinand Laurent, Walter Sell, Joseph Burke, of this town, a ml Louis Taylor, of Plainfield; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Willoughby and Miss Madeline and Miss Vera Willoughby.
