The branch bank at Alamo has suspended operation, the Hillsboro bank has discontinued its branch at Wallace and the Farmers’ Bank at Hillsboro which also had a branch bank at Wallace has discontinued their branch. The branch bank at Cates has ceased to exist and the Bank of Kingman has suspended its branch at Yeddo. However, they will continue to pay their grain checks at that place. Some ta.k has been circulated that some of these branches would be reorganized under the new laws of the state and continue to do business, but when the running expenses, taxes etc. are figured it hardlv seems probable as the profit to be derived would be a very small rate of interest on the money invested.66 th Birthday.
