-At his regular meeting Monday night, Rittman Village Council en dorsed the proposed Rittman Char ter and urged the voters of Ritt man to give it their approval at the election next Tuesday, May . In a resolution adopted unani mously, the council listed the fol lowing advantages of the Charter So It will provide Rittman with efficient, economical home rule government as soon as it becomes effective (Dec 5 1960, approved by the voters on May 3) ? It will continue to provide the same efficient home rule govern ment with no change in organiza tion after Rittman becomes a city 4% it will make it possible to eli minate duplication of effort and conflict of authority necessary un der statutory law . It will make it possible to com bine certain offices which must be kept separate under statutory law and thus save tax payers’ mo ney . It will centralize administrative functions and controls under a full time a municipal manager and thus improve efficiency and pro vide economy . It will make it possible to use village equipment and manpower more efficiently and get more for the tax payer’s dollar . Tt will give Rittman consolidated purchasing, power for all munici pal activities and thus provide savings in cost of purchased ma terials and services
