German Prisoners Leave Bowmanville CampOn Monday, April 9th the first hatch of German prisoners interned sut the camp near Bowmanville left for other prisoner camps somewhere in 'Canada, while the remainder of their number departed on Thursday, April 12’fch-The average age of the prisoners appeared to he around 25, the majority in airforce uniform, a few in naval togs, and all apparently holding decorations of varying degree. In. •civvies their appearance would be like the average youth on the streets. Guards did not intrude; there were no shouted orders as they were loaded on a train at Bowmanville Station, -The senior German officer silently in-d[bated “all hoard” and the train of a dozen tourist 'sleepers and dining ■car moved off in charge of the Veterans Guard for parts unknown.This now leaves the Bowmanville Boys’ Training 'School empty for the time being, whether it will he again turned over for this purpose again, time alone will tell.
