April 207—Domi nick Piccone, 20-year-old ex-con vict who joined three Michigan farmers in a wild 24-hour mur derous rampage, was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard fa nd and solitary confinement to. by THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PONTIAC, April 2—State Police climaxed the melodramatic case of the killing of three farmers by cap turing the killer on a dark road, far from the scene of the deaths early today and announced his con fession. Trooper Roy Perkins, one of the arresting officers, said that 20-year old Dominick Piccione, ex-convict is two weeks out of prison, had ad mitted shooting one farmer to death in vengeance and killing the two others to protect his flight, [meanwhile seizing a fourth man to help him flee. Within a space of 22 hours two Oxford, Mich., farmers, Cassius E. Barber, 71, and Romaine C. Potter, 75, had been killed with rifle fire in their neighboring homes and Carl McKenzie, 43, was killed on his farm at Concord, 90 miles dis tant. Formally charged with murder ing Barber, his former employer, and wanted as suspect in the other two shootings, Piccone had been, sought since Tuesday night. It was, then that Harber and Potter had been killed. Early today a state police car, containing Trooper Perkins and companion officers was cruising in theity of Olisville, a Genesse county town some 45 miles from here.
