Scholarship Fund To Finance Spanish Student At BarnardVarious projects sponsored by the Spanish department have helped to raise money for the scholarship fund established to bring girls from Spain to study at Barnard. Added to the fund are the proceeds of $1,000 from last year’s Spanish play and $1831.17 raised by a recent exhibition of contemporary Spanish paintings. The total amount of money now in the fund from special gifts and projects is $4065.97.The Spanish Scholarship Fund,to be named for Carolina MarcialDorado, for many years head ofthe Barnard Spanish department,was established last February bythe Board of Trustees. Their goal is an endowment of $25,000 sothat a full scholarship can be | given. If at any time there is no v eligible applicant from Spain the Spanish department can recommend that a scholarship be awarded to a Spanish major.
