It’s not an easy transition. But in the long run I know it is the best decision for me and my family, whom I place above all else.”Before arriving at WEOL to host the station’s 6 to 9 a.m. show in May 2005, Szekely worked in the world of B-movies in Hollywood. His credits include “The Not So Grim Reaper,” “Vampire Time Travelers” and “Amazon Warrior,” according to the Internet Movie Database.He also wrote for “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “America’s Funniest People.”While the move to Westlake High will represent his first full-time teaching position, it is not the first teaching Szekely has done.Since moving back from California in 2001, he has taught communications,public speaking and electronic media at Lakeland Community College, Notre Dame College of Ohio, John Carroll University and Cuyahoga Community College.He also tried his hand at stagework, appearing in the 2007 Elyria Summer Theater Association production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Until he leaves Aug. 23, Szekely doesn’t plan any changes to his show.“I’ll give it the usual 150 percent,” he said. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”Even after he leaves the airwaves, Szekley said he would like to keep his hand in with some on-air capacity.
