Arthur Patterson twenty-year-old Nicholson File employee collapsed after gymnastics and died Sunday at Port Hope Hospital from diaphragmatic hernia. Ontario to assume full TB care costs for indigents

Ontario plans to cover all maintenance costs for indigent tuberculosis patients in provincial sanatoria, removing municipal contributions and saving about $400,000 annually for Toronto. The policy aims to speed hospital admission, reduce payment disputes, and expand capacity with new sanatoria and boarding out convalescents in private homes.

Children’s Aid Society reports 182 wards in two counties

The Children’s Aid Society says 182 children are under its supervision in Northumberland and Durham across Hillcrest Lodge meetings. Toronto recital by Mrs Haddow postponed by illness

Mrs Haddow mezzo soprano planned a joint program with Miss Anna Macdonald for February 2 at Maloney’s Galleries but illness forced postponement. Miss Macdonald continued the recital with Miss Gwendolyn Williams as accompanist, earning warm press praise for the sisters.

Ontario beer sales to beverage room authorities for the year ending March 31, 1937 amounted to 19.24 million dollars with cross revenue of 18.16 million. After refunds on container deposits, the net value was about 12.0 million. The Premier noted the inquiry was about 31.26 million realized from brewery sales and deposits influenced the figures.
