Orono audiences enjoyed a Laugh a Minute three act comedy The Torch Bearers last Friday and Saturday. The fifth annual Orono Players production featured a twelve member local cast with strong direction and a fine early twentieth century set. Proceeds benefit the Orono Amateur Athletic Association to fund July summer programs at Orono Park.

An estate finalization brings Memorial Hospital Bowmanville a legacy of about 35000 dollars the largest ever to the hospital. Francis James Hall of Orono a farmer contractor and builder left the funds with nephews Curtis Hall and J Karl Hall among heirs and to his wife relatives. The bequest supports the hospital’s new addition as donations are needed.
