District Fair Association Meets At Orono For Farm Improvement Plans
The Local District Fairs Association met in Orono with about forty delegates from the Agricultural Societies of Durham Peterborough Victoria Maliburboin and Ontario Counties. They reviewed year results set dates for next exhibitions and discussed farm improvement contests and support. A free lunch was served at Town Hall and the group planned to reconvene in June for the district convention.

A hurried dot hunt by the Orone Fish and Haunt Club drew twenty hunters who traveled to the hills near the sixth line. No foxes were found and the group spent time shooting pigeons instead, bringing home twenty two birds before dining at the Queen's Hotel in Newcastle.
