General Motors Plan Further Layoffs at Oshawa Plant
General Motors announced changes to Oshawa car and truck lines causing about 1600 layoffs in early January. GM said the layoff reflects minor production schedule shifts and will be mitigated by increased output of regular sized cars and parts for the Quebec plant, with an estimated 1000 more roles affected indirectly.
