Zone 26 hosted a church parade with about fifty Legion members attending from Milton and nearby branches. The event included a procession to Milton Park, a wreath laying at the cenotaph, a Remembrance service at St Pauls United Church, and a Memorial tribute to PF John Russell Clements.
Mme Jean Tennant of CWAC and Comrade Tom Mitchell of Toronto visitues noted. Henry Shepherd from Newmarket home for weekend. Jimmy Yates home on leave with a long service record. Comrade Alf Collins to report for medical examination. Fish and chips lunch incident ends with courtesy bill. Comrade Fred Yates notes wartime service. Weekend visits by Mrs Boney and Evelyn Monteith, Jack Picilds from Toronto, and T P Grieve. Fields serves as W A treasurer praising Branch 120’s success in Ontario.
A single Night Hiourning Cefrus orchid cactus, grown by Lirs I Wetstrr, Norfolk, is a rare Urasty long plant nearing four feet tall. It opens for Pride night yearly, with a creamy center and strong fragrance, as five buds form along the bral edge.
Hymns and a commemoration mark a solemn service with the hymn O Valant Hearts and the National Anthem. Miss Ann Drennan led the A.T.O.M. choir during the ceremonies. Afterward a parade reorganized and returned to the Legion Hall as Col. G. B. Cousens and district leaders presided. Two boy scouts markets.
The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents with Rev. W. Poreman officiating. The bride wore plum crepe and mauve corsage, accompanied by bridesmaids in matching attire. The groom was supported by Georgeven’s Gruscleman and party, with a reception and travel to Windwr and Charmtoan following the ceremony.
A campaign for a tag day to raise funds for the blind and to support medical care and services. The effort is organized by the committee under Mrs J L Lambert and the auspices of a local institute, with aims to aid the blind and provide medical attention to those in need.
R B Foulis was the special speaker at the St John Ambulance Association banquet. The program included awards for Home Nursing and First Aid, with Miss Dolene MacEnery arranging. Also noted were committee members and charitable discussions led by Lion Hi Grant, Lion Ab Welk, and others before adjournment.

The Detroit Sunday Times reports Frank Sinatra, amid push from grub-stakers and agents, arranged $50,000 financing to prevent foreclosure on his singing career. Louis Gobel notes in The American Weekly that Sinatra took action after facing mortgage jeopardy.
The meeting discussed county expenditures noting a 39317 cost for roads. Reports covered county departments including finance and building repairs and a plan for land and refugee house matters. Officials reviewed nursery and child welfare matters with Halton Peel unity and proposed deer hunting season discussions.
The Coun tess Of Strathmore Chapter held its first fall meeting after summer break in Lekien Hall. With Mrs Sam Mackenzie presiding, minutes and treasurer reports were read. A marathon bridge event was planned for successive weeks. A quilt top donated by Mrs Gordon was completed and turned over to the Red Cross. Contributions supported the crew and Christmas parcels for an adopted minesweeper ship. Rev C C Cochrane spoke on Colonial Policies. Refreshments followed.

Erin Knox Presbyterian Sunday School held its annual picnic at Stanley Park last Saturday. Sam Mackenzie led arrangements with Mrs. Campbell Ainclair coordinating refreshments. Afternoon games and races drew interest with prize winners named for several age groups including Mara Mackenzie David and Ronald Wiyerington and Joan Latimer.
