Hunter Holsteins Are Fair Prizewinners
Golden Hill U-Gota-Likeme owned and bred by F. O. Hunter Norval was grand champion Holstein cow at Saturdays Fair. The cows Nelly Ray Apple Burke and Golden Hill Schulling Bonnie also owned by Mr. Hunter placed first and second in the dry 4 year old class. With the champion and her son Golden Hill R. A. Souvenir owned jointly by Mr. Hunter and Lorne Cleave they formed the first prize Holstein herd. They also won the H. Bingham Son special for best Holstein female and the N. Robinson special for best Holstein herd.

Former Minister Officiates At Churchill Wedding
Rev. O. R. Findall of Allenford officiated the wedding of Bernice Thompson and Le Roy MacArthur at Church United on Saturday September 10. The couple, attended by 150 guests, exchanged vows under floral decor. A lawn reception followed and they plan to reside on their Erin Township home.

Faithful Church Worker Sam Orpen Dies
Ao resident of Georgetown for nine years Samuel Orpen died in Sunnybrook Hospital Toronto last Friday after a short illness. He was a longtime St. George's Sunday School teacher and a former baritone soloist. a lithographer with work in Toronto Rochester and Montreal. He served in World War I with the 50th Battalion and Third Brigade Machine Gunners. Survived by widow Harriet Hammond daughter Sylvia son Maynard and brother Edward H. Orpen. Funeral in St. George's Church with burial at GreenWoods Cemetery.

Georgetown loses a longtime resident and former clerk treasurer Miss Katie D. Ryan who died in Guelph. She retired in 1948 after 38 years with the hydro office and also collected taxes and water rates. A high mass was held at Holy Cross Church. Pallbearers included Harold Marshall and James Boyle.

Little Folio Victim Moves to Thistletown Hospital
Jimmy Ruddell age son of Mr and Mrs Newton Ruddall contracted poliomyelitis weeks ago. He has been moved from Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital to Thistletown convalescent home where he is making good progress toward recovery. He receives nightly doses and right arm therapies as part of treatment.
