Rabid Fox Shot After Moving Through Georgetown Stroll
A suspected rabid fox was shot in Georgetown after entering a backyard on Guelph Street where five children played. Neighbors say Nunzio Varricchio killed the fox in a laneway behind Beaver Lumber after it fought with two German Shepherds and briefly eluded police. Health officials seized the fox head for rabies testing with results awaited. Police urged residents to contact animal control or health officials if exposure is suspected.
