Georgetown Legion Attend Zone Church Parade at Brampton
Georgetown veterans marched with six posts of the Dominion Legion to Knox Presbyterian Church Brampton for a Sunday service after a forceful World War II era address by Capt W C region. He spoke on fear and cooperation urging Legion influence for tolerance in Canada. A wreath was laid at Brampton park by Arthur Hornsey and George Plant of Brampton and Thos Grieve of Georgetown. The 150 Georgetown veterans led the Brampton march past at the municipal office with Bud McDonald of Acton and Arthur Hornsey. Rev H M Coulter led the service welcoming the veterans.

Halton juniors excel at the Canadian National Exhibition with about sixty youths competing in calf club, home economics, and rural demonstrations. Donald Peer of Milton owned and won first in the Holstein class while also claiming champion showman honors. Esquesing Fall Fair Introduces New Feature This Year
The Esquesing Agricultural Society plans a varied fair program with boxing bouts in 75 125 and 145 lb classes. Four couples from Madin's Danish gymnasium in Toronto will perform a demonstration and a community orchestra and choral group are hoped to participate.

Grandma Moote Celebrates 90th Birthday in Rosetown
Mrs. Elizabeth Moote known as Grandma Moote reached her ninetieth birthday Friday. Born near Georgetown Ontario, she long resided in Rosetown district with her son in law James Crossman. Ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive. Rosetown United Church WMS hosted an entertainment with solos by Mrs. Sceviour Daphne Marshall and G H Wright who read a birthday address. Tea was served by local women as bouquets and gifts were presented. The Eagle joins friends in extending happy returns.

Nassagaweya Fair Attracts Large Turnout For School Exhibits
Ten township schools closed Nassagaweya fair in Halton county, delayed last year due to infantile paralysis. Students prepared exhibits with an agricultural representative in charge. A new hobby display feature was won by Donald van Goozen, and the championship school fair shield went to SB 9.

Dan Abbe won a sizable purse for owner J. H Matthews at Rice Lake Wisconsin on Friday. After a first heat fall forced him wide he then won the next two heats with times around 2.00 and 2.10 and has now broken six track records to reach 2.06. Matthews, an Erin native, is noted as a former lacrosse player and his friends in Georgetown and nearby communities will be glad to see his success in the West with a fine horse.

Knox Presbyterian Church Sixteen near Trafalgar marked its 40th anniversary Bethel United Church Drumquin celebrated its 23rd anniversary and Christie Sunday School and community hall near Campbellville observed its 16th anniversary. Norval accident halts highway near village curve
A Saturday evening crash on the curve at the west end of Norval left a coupe and trailer overturned in a ditch. About 35 cases of beer spilled along the roadside. Traffic Officer Hodgson of Brampton investigated and seized the liquor as occupants fled before police arrived. The damaged car was stored in a local garage. Rev and Mrs Gilbert recently returned from a holiday at Stoney Brae Muskoka. A United Church rally and harvest home services are planned with Rev M J Aitken in charge. Mrs Brown Sr remains ill at her daughter Mrs Lindsay’s Acton home.
