Midland 7 Giants built a 20 edge with a first inning double by Bill and a late rally. Dyment led with 3 runs, Denny Gibbons drove in two, while George Whhs and Bill Campbell contributed extra hits in the final frame as the Giants posted several runs but fell behind.

The Georgetown Police Department warns motorists to share responsibility for child safety as school resumes. The advisory extends to teen drivers and scooter, motorcycle, and bicycle riders. It urges vehicle checks for service readiness and emphasizes brakes, tires, motor, steering, and windshield condition amid increased teen driving and younger riders.

Adjudicator Garfield Bender praised Lois Elliott for a strong performance at the CNE vocal competition awarding a 530 dollar scholarship for junior soprano to the 16 and under class. Elliott, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Elliott, won the gold medal with 87 and earned a silver as well while Joan Beaty took multiple top prizes from Kenneth R Harrison studio.
Georgetown council on Tuesday signed an agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees covering a two year period. The union represents employees on the town works staff.
Georgetown and Esquesing schools absorb over 300 more students since term start due to new facilities. Georgetown Public Schools open a new building, with lockers still packed and drills ongoing, but expected to ease within two weeks. Enrollment figures show shifts across Georgetown high and public schools, including Harrison Chapel St and other sites.
In his first CNE Canadian National Exhibition Dog Derby, Sam a yellow Labrador owned by Bob Clark 10 Park View finished second despite cold water and many entrants failing to finish. The event took place on Labour Day with Sam paddling to a solid second place.

Lowville swept the Glen Williams best-of-five series to become champions. Davies Powell and Harrison each had two hits, with Gunby Gowland and MacGregor adding a homer.
