Large crowds attended the 118th anniversary services at St. John’s United Church. Three services were needed to accommodate worshippers as Mrs Ferne-Caird of Toronto and guest soloist was ill. Jack Paterson of Toronto sang solos at morning and evening services. Dr. Finlay preached three times, with “Christ is Lord,” “Faith Made Visible,” and “Friends of God.” The Junior Choir performed, and visiting members from Knox Presbyterian and First Baptist attended. A family night followed with a pot luck supper and budget discussions for 1958.
