Dean Harley 75 Inventor of Harley Fire Escape
Georgetown resident Dean Stanley Harley 78 died Thursday October 20 at St Joseph's Hospital Guelph. He was born on John Street and lived there his whole life. He ran Harley Cartage, worked at Creelmans Knitting, and later manufactured his Harley Fire Escape. Survived by eight children, one sister, one brother, and many grandchildren. Funeral at McClure Funeral Home with interment Greenwood Cemetery.

Hospitalized a Week With Accident Injuries
Maclaren returned home from hospital last Saturday after sustaining injuries in a motor accident in Toronto on October 14. He and his father Alex Maclaren were rear ended by a truck while crossing a street. Jack Maclaren, pinned under the car, suffered more serious injuries including fractured ribs and a facial cut requiring 27 stitches.
