Plan Board Palls As Council Stalls
Three council members oppose a section of the proposed zoning by law and no decision was reached on adoption at Monday's meeting. Planning board chairman Edwin Wilson presented the bylaw with the full board present, noting map changes including commercial designation for a highway strip, industrial status for part of Moore farm, and residential zoning for a River Drive service and storage area. Professor Allan Farris of Knox College Toronto preached two sermons Sunday at Knox Presbyterian Church to celebrate the 96th anniversary. Flowers were placed by the Young Ladies Auxiliary and music featured the choir with guest soloist Gwen Little. The choir offered two anthems and a mixed quartet including Mrs. Vic Torrance Mrs. Wm Cromar Dick Packer and FE Gowland. Miss Little performed I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked and The Holy City.

Robbers Blow Safe In Daring Break in
Co-owners Bob Caldwell and Bruce Williamson of IGA Food Liner Georgetown Plaza reported thieves blew the front safe open early Monday at 2 40 am. Constable Harley Lowe found the safe door blown and about 500 dollars worth of cigarette cartons near an exit. No money was taken and candies were scattered throughout the store as investigators continue the probe.

No Serious Injury After Swanek Bicycle Crash at Water Street
