Confectionery family man dies after pneumonia in Guelph
Charles George Dickeson 68 died October 1 in Guelph General Hospital after a two day illness. A longer resident of Toronto and Georgetown, he worked in dairies before joining his son and daughter in operating a Wa ter Street confectionery near the highway. Survived by wife Jessie Spottiswood and children Charles and Jessie, funeral held at Harold C. McClure with interment in Greenwood Cemetery Georgetown.

Firemen Save Tost Barn From Flames
Georgetown firemen contained a smouldering barn on the Jack Tost farm beside the high school after neighbors spotted smoke at 4:30 PM. A later check by owner Mr Tost found nothing at first. around 10:30 PM smoke reappeared, prompting a quick response and traffic control during firefighting efforts.
