Fourteen year old Theresa Thompson of 89 McIntyre Crescent suffered severe cuts to her right leg when struck by a truck owned by the Eastern Co on Guelph Street in front of Georgetown High School. Vice principal A M Baxter called police. she was taken to Georgian Hospital by Georgetown Volunteer Ambulance Service after treatment at the scene by Dr A W Ashenhurst. Constable Arnold Vanclief led the investigation.

Georgetown Clerk Treasur er for 23 Years Dies at 90
Percy Harrison, Georgetown longtime clerk and treasurer, died October 1 at Brant Memorial Hospital Burlington at age 90. He served as town clerk for 23 years and held public posts including secretary-treasurer of the public school board for 30 years and treasurer of the high school board. Born in Zimmerman Nelson Township in 1879, he moved to Georgetown in 1882. He was a life member of Orion Lodge IOOF and Foresters for 72 years and a member of St. Johns United Church. Funeral services were held at Harold C. McClure Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Family home at 38 Charles Street later sold. unmarried, he leaves sisters Hazel and Edna.
