Fire damages two Burlington Beach houses in wind swept blaze

Governor McGibbon Resigns After 23 Years as Halton Jail Chief
Arch ie McGibbon of Milton who has led the Halton county jail for 23 years announced his resignation to the Attorney General Price. He will stay on briefly after a successor is chosen to train the new governor. The retiring official is brother of the late Duncan McGibbon and presided over a low cost per prisoner. A successor is expected soon.

W J Campbell of Sunn Township hospitalized in Guelph after surgery on Sept 1 22. Margaret Barbour wife of R W Barbour mourned by the community. A farmer, Thomas Mack in Stirline Erin reported two full grown deer on his farm last Thursday.

Mr Alex Duff, ill in Hamilton hospital, was accompanied by Miss Lillian Ellis and Miss Edith Mills when a car hit loose gravel near Hornby and overturned.
