Rainy Weather Dims crowds at 120th Ontario Fair
Cold and rain plagued the Etown Fair Saturday as the 120th annual event offered thrills despite the weather. President Ken Ella and Mrs. Lloyd Topham of Woodstock opened ceremonies with greetings from Agricultural Societies and Ontario government officials. The debut of the Quarter Horse Show drew praise from attendees with entries from Marine City Michigan and New York State. over fifty horses were shown. Don Nye of Kilbride served as ringmaster, Hank Snyder from New Jersey judged classes, and Lloyd Marks coordinated events along with carriage horse and pony classes.

Two Million Additional Assessment Expected Soon Says Commissioner Hibbert
Commissioner CH Hibbert told Council that Georgetown's 68 percent residential and 32 percent industrial assessment mix will shift toward 60-40 as construction is included.
