Longtime Terra Cotta Engineer J M McBride Dies at 81
Joseph McBride 81, a Terra Cotta resident and former chief engineer at Halton Brick Company, died Monday at Guelph General Hospital. He was a farmer in later years, married in 1900 to Martha McNally, and supported community activities including music. Survived by wife Martha, daughters Mrs Harry Bessey and Mrs Norman Scain, two brothers, a grandchild Lois Beasey, funeral conducted by Rev G Lockhart Royal, interment Glen Williams Cemetery.

AYPA Council Meets at St George's Georgetown
Deanery AYPA council gathered Monday evening at St George's Church Georgetown with Miss Shirley Savin presiding. Plans for fall activities included aiding the Sunday School by a post project. A hayride is slated October 29 at Milton and October 16 at 3 pm the next Tocal Council meeting will be at St George's.

Relative of McKinley dies at 89 in Milton
A distant relative of President William McKinley, Thomas McKinley, aged 89, died suddenly on Sunday at Halton Centennial Manor Milton where he had resided for two years. He was born in Linwood and earlier lived in Georgetown. He worked for the Toronto street railway as a young man before moving west.
