The 92nd annual Pall Pair in Georgetown featured strong officer leadership and a lively arena show with Lorne Scots Band fencing and boxing, acrobatics, folk dancing, musical chairs on horseback, and a potato race. Thursday drew a near record crowd for horse cattle and farm exhibits, with harness racing, baby show, and a novel women car driving contest won by Mrs. Grant Campbell. judges and organizers praised progress.

Car Driver Exonerated by Coroner's Jury
A coroner's jury found no blame attached to Reid Marquess of Guelph, driver of the car that struck Mrs. Jos. Ruddy on Guelph Street, causing her death. The inquest, presided by Dr. J. H. Stead, ruled the death purely accidental and recommended a street light at the site due to poor lighting.

Additional events include ten rapid fire shots in 75 seconds and ten prone shots. A silver spoon prize went to Atkinson. Aggregate scores list H Nurse 100 and others, with Atkinson at 99. Robert McDowell retires after 47 years in CNR service
Robert McDowell ends a long railroading career after 47 years with CN R. He began at Victoria Harbor in 1899 and became agent there in 1902, serving until 1936 when the station closed, then two years at MacMillan. He earlier worked ten years with Grand Trunk at Milton and had postings in Waubaushene and Georgetown. He plans a peaceful retirement. his mother died at 101 two years ago and he married Nellie Sallows in 1901.

Driver Not to Blame in Speyside Inquest Verdict
A coroner's jury in Acton last Thursday night returned a verdict finding no fault in the death of Joseph Gardiner, 67, of Speyside, fatally injured September 18 in a collision with a car driven by Ernest Hall of Guelph. Evidence noted wet pavement and skid marks. witnesses urged excluding all witnesses from evidence. Brampton Fair prize winners from the district included Paul Conn, W J Alexander, Brownridge grains, R Pendley, and several runners and cattle winners.

Man Crushed Under Own Truck On Ontario Farm
Jack Gilbert a 47 year old junk dealer of Acton received a broken back when his two ton truck ran over him as he stood on a Nassagaweya Township farm to place stones against the wheels. The vehicle moved 40 or 50 yards before stopping after hitting a fence and a tree. He was taken to Dr. E T Nelson Acton and later to Guelph General Hospital.
