A glass breaking spree struck John Boughton Jewellers in downtown, about midnight Thursday, with $400 in merchandise taken after a cement block smashed the show window and set alarms. Murray’s Esso Service Station on Highway 7 and Andrew Murray Motors on Mountainview Road were also hit the same night, with minor cash theft and broken windows. An attempted break-in at Preston’s Lucky Dollar Store in Glen Williams occurred around 3 am on Sunday, but the door was not entered.
