Four Seek R.C. Seats On Board of Education
Roman Catholic school supporters in Georgetown and Esquesing will elect two members to the Halton County Board of Education at the December 2 elections. Candidates are Hubert Clohecy Hugh Henderson and William Priestner of Burlington and Kenneth Walsh of Oakville. In the county's separate school board Georgetown voters choose between Ben Boyle and Ed Blayes. Nassagaweya Acton share one seat with Milton residents James Langedyk and Angelo Tonelli as candidates.

Overflow crowd fills Georgetown High for circuit assembly
Large turnout at Georgetown High School on the final day of a Jehovah's Witnesses circuit assembly. Special arrangements enabled overflow attendees to watch via closed circuit TV in the cafeteria thanks to Burton Moore and support from Masonic groups.
Latimer to Be Named Halton Crown Attorney
Georgetown lawyer Douglas V. Latimer 39 will be appointed as the Crown Attorney for Walton County pending provincial cabinet approval. A retired Royal Canadian Navy officer, Latimer has long been active in Halton politics and law groups. He will succeed Peter K. McWilliams, who resigned to run for federal office. Latimer is a Georgetown native, married with three children, and holds degrees from the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall.

Lions Santa Parade Slated With 16 Floats And 3 Bands

Band and cadet corps plan taping of Hamilton event

Award Contract For Holy Cross Addition
Final approval from the OMB permits immediate start on the all room addition to Holy Cross School. A $129,000 contract was awarded on November 13 to low bidder Roman Kramer. Construction starts immediately with a hoped for completion in April. Architects are Allen Brown and Sheriff.

Barbershop Chorus In Demand By Toronto Region Groups
The Georgetown Barbershoppers, a thirty member chorus in red blazers and grey pants, are in high demand and ready to turn down engagements. They performed for the Big Brothers Variety show in Brampton, the Relief Fund event, and Halton Centennial Manor residents, with upcoming appearances at Acton Fair Board and Homewood hosts in Guelph. Directed by Don Gillespie, with Bill Hunter as president and Ralph Barton as vice president, they also donated twenty five dollars to help the Little Theatre recover from a destructive fire.
