Blakelock Attends Gallagher Tribute Warden’s Dinner Dinner honors Gordon Gallagher with ex wardens and officials
About three hundred guests, including Halton County officials and twelve former wardens, gathered at the Brant Inn on November 2 to honour Gordon Gallagher the Reeve of Burlington. Guests included Conservative MPP George Kerr Liberal MP Harry Harley and Minister Ray Connell. Thomas Blakelock the county’s oldest ex ward en joined for the first time in three months. The event featured toasts to the past wardens a gift of a briefcase for the ward en and a bouquet for Mrs Gallagher plus dancing to Elgin Corletts orchestra.

A livestock trader and farmer from Norval, he suffered a heart seizure while dining in his truck at Pineland Farms. Survived by wife and children, he was active in the Norval Presbyterian Church and the North Halton curling club. funeral at Norval Presbyterian Church follows his rest at H. C. McClure Funeral Home.

Downtown Lights Fail After Car Hits Pole
A car crash near Main and Park streets knocked out downtown street lights for hours. Kenneth W. Vahey, 48, suffered facial cuts after his Morris 850 rammed a hydro pole and damaged Marion McKean’s Pontiac. Police valued damages at 400 to Vahey and 300 to McKean, with the pole at 400. The accident occurred just after midnight.
