Halton County marked its annual plowing match on farms of John Picket, John Lister and Bert Puller near Drimaquin. About 3000 spectators watched 71 plowmen compete for top ridges and Salada prizes, with J A Carrol praising the event and R G Brown winning the best ridge trophy. The Coun tess of Strathmore Chapter 1.O.DE held a Monday meeting at Mrs. R. W. Robb's home with 22 members. The Regent presided, welcomed new members, and approved prior minutes and treasurer's report. Twenty five socks were submitted for a silver-tray draw to be held at Gregory Theatre later in the month. Guest speaker Mrs. Grieve discussed the English Red Cross in World War I and her V.A.D. service. refreshments followed and the meeting closed with the National Anthem.
