Twenty nine members of St George s Church Boys League were entertained by Dr and Mrs Clifford Reid at their home last Monday evening. Prizes were awarded for the four best costumes and for several other entrants. Georgetown Lions Club Hosts Deputy District Governor Visit
On Monday night Georgetown Lions Club welcomed Deputy District Governor Ed Capps of Brampton who urged club growth and efficiency. Georgetown minister named new moderator for 27 Baptist churches
Rev. John E. Ostrom of Georgetown elected moderator of the Guelph Association of Baptist Churches. The post oversees 27 congregations within about 100 miles from Brampton to St. Marys. Ostrom arrived in Georgetown four years ago after preaching in Winchester Cornwall and Uxbridge. Born in Sweden he came to America with his family in 1906.

Return Home for Lorne Scots Vets After WWII Service
CGM Fred H. Tost of the Lorne Scots returns home aboard the Queen Elizabeth with a large group of veterans. He served in Italy, France, Belgium and Holland and is son of Mrs. Tost and the late Henry Tost. Gordon joined the RCAF in 1941, trained in several bases, and later flew with an RAF group on a secret mission against Japan. His father, 8.Sgt. Alvin McDonald, remains in the Veterans' Guard.

Georgetown Man Weds Navy Wife in Wartime Union
Sgt. George Chapman, returning to Canada aboard the De de France, is described as a Georgetown man by marriage. He and his wife Margaret Leslie met in Vancouver in 1943, married there, then served overseas with the Queens Own Rifles and the navy. Mrs Chapman, a petty officer, has been discharged. Chapman saw combat near Caen. He is a Hamilton native who worked in advertising before enlisting in 1940.
