Prominent Orange Lodge Master Dies at 54
William John McDonald, 54, of 39 Maple Ave W, dies after illness. A Loyal Orange Lodge 245 master and past Orion Odd Fellows noble grand, he chaired the Orange Lodge and served in the Presbyterian church. Survived by wife Ethel, four children, grandchildren, and siblings. Rev. Alex Calder conducted the funeral at McClure Funeral Home with Odd Fellows at the graveside.

Georgetown has entered junior and juvenile teams in Halton County baseball league. Three Hour Hydro Cut After Highway Accident
After a bulldozer collision across from Scott Motors, a pole and wires were damaged on highway No 7. The hydro crew repaired the main feeder line from 7 am to 10 45 am, causing power outages in Georgetown and Acton for about three hours. Hydro superintendent G W McCallum apologized for the surprise outages and noted advance notices were impossible.
