A by law vote is scheduled for Monday May 20 on Corke Woollen Mill By-law. Voters urged to support the measure to aid a local industry and protect home town interests. Messages of thanks extend to neighbors for kindness during a bereavement.
The Georgetown Motor Club held its annual meeting at the Public Library on May 7. Members adopted a financial report showing $9.16 on hand and $51.60 in assets with $6 due to the Ontario Motor League. A club run and family picnic were slated for June 18. Officers elected included Dr W Nixon as Honorary President, De F Watson as President, J A Willoughby as Vice President, F J Barker as Secretary-Treasurer, and others on the board.
At a Saturday evening Esquoising Council meeting Stewarttown residents celebrated enlistment with gifts to Sergi Hynds of the Bank of Hamilton and Private Joe Fry of Glen Williams. Hynds received a gold chain and locket while Fry was presented a gold watch. The Reeve praised their patriotic spirit and thanked them on behalf of the municipality. Presentations were made by Messrs Bingham and Standish.
Holy Communion will be at St George's 11 am and St Alban's Glen Williams 9 am for Whitsunday. Methodist Sunday School has a new time 12156. Next Sunday features a Mother's service for boys at the front and an Evening Fathers service. Readers urged to remit subscriptions to support the publication.
