The Local Council of Women holds a Tuesday evening meeting at 8 o'clock in the Bank of Montreal Bent Rooms on May 16 with expected good attendance as important business will be considered. An April 25 meeting featured Mayor Dale speaking on laws affecting women and children, outlining property rights for wives and the Mothers Pension law, with a lively Q&A and thanks to the speaker.

The Milton county council met at 10 30 a m with Warden presiding. Members Blais Breckon Betzner Chisholm Elliott Heartwell Hampshire Hillmer Irving Johnstone Morden and Robinson attended. A series of communications and motions followed including a 20 000 loan for four months to fund road construction. The council discussed Gordon Home heating improvements and equal shared funding with Peel for a new system, and proposed transfers of road sections to county provincial status. The meeting adjourned upon call of the Warden.
Miss Tena Kennedy daughter of Andrew and Mrs Kennedy and later Mrs Joseph Douglas died in Detroit after long illness. She married into the Douglas family. burial was in Hamilton. She leaves two stepdaughters three sisters and three brothers. funeral quoted a personal deathbed sentiment about heaven with Christ.
Ballina and Mr and Mrs A E Farrell and gon Graham visited frianda in Norval on Sunday. Miss Annie Gennery has secured a position in Brampton and leaves this week. Mr M Campbell and his employee built a fence that improved the place. Bert Rodgers of the garage and the Ferguson Brothers are busy. Master Freddie Ferguson, hurt April 11 by a circular saw, is able to be around again.

Honours go to Blanche Wright and Elmeda Tarzwell, with several absences noted. promoted from Primer to First Book Cassie Hamilton and Nellie Milliere. passes include Jack Lawson and Jack Smethurst. failures include Donald McDonald and Irene Scott.
Daniel V. Ritchie has purchased the G W V A Community House and plans to continue its hostelry role. John Looker and family settle in Acton with Mies Akins on Bower Avenue while Mrs James Lackie visits Georgetown friends. Myra Vanatter visits Georgetown. D P Ray family move to Olean New York. Sydney Smith returns home after nine and a half years at the Community House, resuming household duties.
Milton L C L No 2885 met Monday night with Rev A Maraball pastor of Milton Methodist Church addressing members about his departure for Tilsonborg where he has accepted a call. The town assessor lists population about 1900 with 75 dogs and total assessment 845627 up from 821686. Mrs Richard Partridge matron of the House of Refuge remains in St Michaels Hospital with specialists to consult for her condition.
