A cheque for 203.27 was forwarded today to the Toronto Evening Telegram. The Herald started a fund for victims of a British war incident and received six dollars from bus fans for a special evening at Mr. Dickle’s home. A resident paraded dogs to raise money, hoping it would help feed a needy canine.

Eli James Gollop died last Tuesday at his Norval home. Survived by daughter Marjorie McPherson of Toronto, brothers George and Robert, sisters Mrs. J. Black and Mrs. I. Webster. another brother John died recently in Toronto. Funeral from Mrs. Black's home with burial in Millcrest Cemetery. Gollop a noted small arms expert, organized several rifle clubs in Winnipeg and on the coast. helped form Norval Rifle Club in 1935 with weekly practice and notable records.
Fire destroyed the farm home of Mr and Mrs Robert McEnery about a mile from Ballinafad. The family was in the barn when the blaze reached the house and only with personal help did they escape as wind drove the flames away from the barn, leaving the livestock unharmed.
The Lucky Namer Draw sponsored by Nat Platoon of the Lorne Boots Gregory Theatre Knight awarded first prize of a $12 pair of skis to Bilt of Milton.
