Georgetown's 100th fall fair date was set for September 6 and 7 at the municipal building. The Esquesing Agricultural Society approved a $75 grant for a Norval Junior Farmers Grain Show display and a Junior Institute exhibit. A new lady directorate was named, plans for a social evening were arranged, and a dinner meeting was to be planned to discuss children's work displays.

At a Monday executive meeting the Active Service League surrendered its charter and handed 453.98 dollars to the Georgetown Rehabilitation Council. Funds will be held in trust for twelve months to donate to a Georgetown city memorial or, if the memorial does not start, to be used by the Rehabilitation Council.

Iced Under as Ice Jam Breaks in Glen Williams
Spring thaw caused one of the worst floods in years in Glen Williams as an ice jam on the Credit River diverted water onto Gin Road. The Beaumont Knitting Mills dam was badly damaged, Glen Textile Industries closed briefly, and homes including Mrs. Cooper and William Hadley were flooded. A tree near St Alban's lost bark, and Mrs. Timlock witnessed raging ice from a second floor view.
