Paper engineer James McNicol dies at home in town
Internationally known paper mill builder James McNicol died at his home after celebrating his 80th birthday. Born in Inverurie Scotland he worked from age ten in mills in Britain before guiding mills in India Siam Canada and the United Kingdom. He helped establish Cornwall Paper Co Montrose Paper Co and the Georgetown mill and served as assistant paper controller during World War I. He leaves a son Gilbert and two daughters.

Cracks Two Ribs In Motor Smash Near Kincardine
Eric Tomlinson suffered two broken ribs and a forehead cut in a highway crash ten miles from Kincardine during a blinding snowstorm. He was driving a group of juvenile players to a game when his car struck a parked vehicle with lights out. Five other passengers from Acton were uninjured. Tomlinson was treated at a nearby farmhouse then Brampton Hospital but released to return home after finding injuries not serious.

Double Bereavement for Mr and Mrs A Reeve in England
Mr and Mrs Ariffur Reeve mourn two brothers lost in England within weeks. Harry Neeve died in London leaving a wife and two children, plus three other brothers and two sisters in England. Hubert Dix, Bedford born Norfolk, died at Norwich Blind Institute aged 7, known as Hind Bob, after a long career as a traveling grocer. Mrs Reeve last saw her brother in 1939 during a trip to England.

American Educationalist from Scotch Block Dies in California
Dr. George Black, native of the Scotch Block with a long U S educational career, died in Palo Alto California last week. He led the State Normal School in Washington and earned a Ph D at Columbia University. He retired years ago to Palo Alto and is survived by his wife three daughters and five grandchildren. Mrs Henderson the family’s last surviving member.
