Holy Cross principal Barry Gowan said Halton Separate School Board backed St. Thomas Aquinas in Brampton for grade nine and ten students in September 1976, but only one inquiry arrived, delaying plans and a possible bus. Projections in Acton Burlington and Oakville areas spurred talks of new schools by 1980.
