The Fresh Air Exchange seeks to place city children with rural families for two weeks or more to escape the heat. Last year 286 children benefited. neighborhoods cover railway costs, doctors screen for contagions, and hosts provide meals and lodging. W A Burchell of the Union Bank supervised the release of ten thousand trout fry into the Credit River with help from others. The fries will take three to five years to become a reliable trout source. Burchell earns praise for his initiative in stocking the waterway.
The Halton Reform Association met in the G W V A rooms Milton on June 9 with a large delegate turnout. Officers were elected including Dr H A McColl as President and Fred Dewar as Secretary Treasurer. A resolution renamed the group the Halton Liberal Association and expressed strong support for W L Mackenzie King and Finance Minister in Ottawa.
The County Court and General Sessions for Halton opened Tuesday before Judge Elliot. Two criminal cases led the docket. Doobar vs Bentley sought damages over an automobile collision on the Toronto Hamilton Highway near Oakville. the jury found the incident an accident, dismissing the case and ordering each party to pay their own costs. Brown Jas was indicted for perjury in a Division Court proceeding and for conspiracy. Verdict: guilty with mercy recommended. Sentence deferred. Brown fined 75 dollars and released on suspended sentence, conspiracy charge dropped. Prosecutor Dick led Crown. Macdonald defended.

Miltons W J Hartley, noted fruit grower, markets first batch of Milton strawberries on Monday morning June 12. Nellie Seabe of Mil to n engages Ewart McKinnon of Erin. wedding planned in June.

Mrs Thomas Cook recovers well from recent surgery at Victoria Hospital London and hopes to return home by week’s end. Mrs McKechnie returns to activity after neuritis confinement.
