In Chengtu China Apr 17 1926 Miss Emily Caldwell a former Georgetown Sunday School member writes home about visiting a Chinese Girls Home on Christmas Eve with Santa Claus. She recalls the festive tree and gifts and notes the effort of Mission Bands in Canaria. She reflects on campus life and kite contests while highlighting poverty and beggary in China and urging Canadian readers to support missionary funds.
The Toronto Star reports on a 400 acre Georgetown farm where Jewish boys will learn farming under the United Jewish Farmers' Association. Morris Saxe, formerly of Acton, is superintendent. A small group is there now with plans to reach thirty soon and up to two hundred within a year. The farm hosts seventy cattle and modern machinery.
An outbreak of hog cholera on Charles McDougall's farm in Guelph Township led to 23 hogs killed while 57 were vaccinated and quarantined. The disease, rare in the area, prompted action by Dr. Richardson of the Provincial Veterinary Inspectors’ Department to prevent spread.

The Halton-Peel Fair Association organized at a Milton meeting led by R. R. Fleming with representatives from Halton and Peel Societies, Burlington, Georgetown and Streetsville. A coordinated circuit will avoid overlap, 35 cent admission, cooperative advertising planned, Fleming elected president and A L Mac Nabb named secretary, with final officers to be chosen soon.
Wm. J. Carrique of Oakville died quietly on Tuesday night at age ninety six. He had lived in Oakville for twenty years after born in Nelson and also lived in Milton and Georgetown. He was the oldest member of St. John's United Church and is survived by five daughters. Funeral was private Thursday with interment at St. Jude's Cemetery.
