Rey. and Mrs. A E Cameron plan a Belleville visit. Many locals travel to St Catharines Fisk Dundalk Wasaga Beach Brantford and Ottawa for holidays and family events. A long list of guests and illnesses includes J Arnott Early hospital work and visits by relatives from Ajax Detroit London and Chicago.
Edith Jean Lyons and Charles Douglas Reid wed at Norval United Church on July 23 with Rev. F J Dunlop officiating. The bride, from Norval, wore ivory satin with a long veil and carried pink rosebuds. They planned to live in Orangeville after a reception at Harobel Farm, Norval.

In a double ring ceremony at St. Alban s Church of England on Saturday July 26 Archdeacon W G O Thompson united in marriage Ethel Lane and Delmar Beaumont. The bride wore a white crepe dress and picture hat with red rose corsage. A reception for sixty followed in the Sunday School room. The couple departed for a northern honeymoon.
Mrs. W. McClure, RR 2 Brampton, a Provincial Board member, sails from Montreal aboard the Empress of Canada to Liverpool then Belfast and Scotland. She will visit East Kent and Essex Federation, attend the Fifth Conference of the Associated Country Women of the World in Amsterdam, with stops in Paris and Belgium. Also traveling are Miss Anna P. Lewis, Miss Edith Collins, Miss Marjorie Lee, Mrs. Angus Jackson, and Mrs. Hugh Summers who sails via New York on August 23 aboard the Queen Mary.
Members of the Legion W A and families gathered in Georgetown Park for their annual picnic. The day featured games and races with winners in multiple age groups, a bountiful supper, and activities such as shoe races and marble guessing.

Glen Williams and families return home after a week at Mr. Lindley Beaumont's. Charles Hancock and family visited relatives in Smithsville while Eva Garvin and friends vacationed in Caledonia. Walter Rigg moves into a new Georgetown home. Vera Beaumont Jessie Boyd Dorothy Dickson and Betsy Henry from Toronto stayed with the Beaumonts. Eva Garvin marked her ninth birthday with a party on the 9th line. Delmar Beaumont near wedding received a miscellaneous shower at the Beaumont home.
A funeral for Mrs Sam Trimble marked a community tribute. Omagh Juniors beat Hornby Juniors 8 to 6 while Hornby Seniors defeated Trafalgar 10 to 1. Miss Violet Fendley visited the Thompson home. United Church Sunday School picnic was held at Hidden Valley last Tuesday.

Joyce Smith, nurse in training at Guelph General Hospital, returns home for three weeks with her parents.

In a classic Norval game Monday night Arrow beat Port Dover 9 8 after a 7 7 regulation tie. Bill Leidlaw scored six Norval goals while Bob Hepburn Russ Fendley and Johnny Haines added the others. Port Dover’s newcomer Powliss led the visitors with strong play.
