Entry Fees Dropped For Fall Fair Classes
The Esquesing Agricultural Society trimmed costs at the 1942 Fall Fair with entry fees eliminated in most classes and a 15 percent deduction on winner prizes. Children’s entries are exempted, poultry and saddle horse classes are unaffected, and Aberdeen Angus and Ayrshire classes were dropped for lack of entries. New jump ing horses prize list debuts with a junior class at 10 am and three harness races planned September 21 22 with two extra races. The Lions club will assist at gates, and the Girls Pipe Band will perform.

Top Public School Students Share Hy Imand Silver Memorial Awards
Five local public schools honor top students with Hy imand Silver Memorial awards this year. At four schools the prize went to the top student. at Harrison the prize was shared by Douglas Bridgen and Petra Baulstridge, next in line. Award established years ago by Sid Silver in memory of his father who founded the local department.
