New organ purchased with funds paid and age balance in organ fund. 33 new members added in 1951, end-year membership 335. 11 adults and 17 children baptized. Sunday School and worship attendance rose. floor replacement planned for Sunday School rooms. various committees named and managers authorized to repair church windows. several elders elected or reappointed to the Session and Board of Managers.

Verne Cavanagh longtime CHR station agent dies
Verne T. Cavanagh a Georgetown resident since 1946 and former CHR station agent at Ayton Sebringville and New Hamburg died at his Church Street home after a stroke that forced retirement in 1948. He served from 1912 to 1944 in various posts and leaves a widow four children and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at McClure Funeral Home with burial at Flora Cemetery.

Freak Accident Wounds Georgetown Fox Hunter
Charles Davis a Provincial Papers employee suffered serious knee injuries in a hunting accident on the 6th. While fox hunting near the Danforth Quarries he stepped on loose footing, the gun discharged striking his left knee and pellets entered his right leg. He was cared for by Dr. Chamberlain and transported to Guelph General Hospital.

Forty Years in Baggage Trade Remembered in Guelph Death
David Wiggins died in Toronto at his daughter's home on January 22 at age 81. Born near Norval, he spent forty years in the baggage transfer business in Guelph and lived in Toronto the last nine years. He married Kate Webb of Guelph and is survived by three children Kathleen Roy Archer Gordon and Giedys, with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral was in Toronto with graveside services in Norval Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jim Russell Gordon Webb and others.
