Walter C Anthony Remembered as Georgetown Merchant
Walter C Anthony a longtime Georgetown merchant died suddenly on Tuesday January 12 after a heart attack while returning from Norval. He served 38 years on church boards, aided the Fiquesing Agricultural Society, helped Verdun Rebekah Lodge, and contributed to the George town Cemetery Board and Arena Board while enjoying curling. Born in Norva y sixty years ago he trained as a tinsmith and plumber before moving to Brampton and Wiarton in his early career.

A local man married Elizabeth J. Morrow of Brampton settled in Wiarton then Georgetown and bought the hardware business of the late W. P. Moore in 1903. He is mourned by his wife six sisters and many relatives as funeral rites were held at his residence with Rev. R. C. Todd and Dr. Ewing Reid officiating.

The community extends sympathy to Mrs C V Williams on the death of her father Mr P Parlee. He lived with his daughter but went to Winnipeg for the winter. After two months there he fell ill and died a week later at a Winnipeg hospital.

The annual meeting of St Alban's Ladies' Guild was held at the home of Treasurer Mrs Arthur Beaumont in Glen Williams.
