Mr and Mrs Alexander Irvine and their son and daughter in law visited Detroit for Christmas and New Year. The Mission Circle met at the Manse with worship led by Mrs Elwood Snow and devotion by Mrs Ernie McEnery. Miss Dora Warne gave a topic, Betty Ann Kort played piano, Rev O R Flindall installed officers, the 1947 annual report was filed, sewing and 1948 programmes were distributed, a Circle prayer closed the meeting, followed by a contest led by Lydia Snow and a luncheon served by Mrs Flindall.

Knee Cap Breaks in Ladder Fall at Thompson Motors Acton
William Hyde suffered a serious accident last Friday morning when he fell twelve feet from a ladder while working with G. R. Muckett at Thompson Motors in Acton. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Guelph where his life cap was found broken in nine places and had to be removed. He also sustained a badly bruised arm.
