Lorne Scots W A Sends Cigarettes Overseas

A Women’s Auxiliary meeting at Mrs. John R. Barber’s home raised over 30 dollars from a Legion Hall bingo and arranged a shipment of 7000 cigarettes to Major John R. Barber for distribution among local Lorne Scots members. Refreshments were served by the host.

Georgetown Resident Died in Sudden Illness

Joan Marthy Allingham of Georgetown died January 9 at Guelph General Hospital after collapsing on the way to work. Funeral from his home Monday, Knox Presbyterian Church, with six brothers by his side. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Installation of Credit Lodge No 219 officers held Friday with Grand Lodge officials and local members attending.

The St John Ambulance First Aide Class held a banquet at the McGibbon House on Tuesday January 6. Toasts to the King and guests were given, with Mr J D B Wallace delivering an address on first aid work. Walker Re-elected Leader of St George’s WA

Sam Walker was re-elected president of the Women’s Auxiliary of St George’s Church of England at a meeting held in Sunday school rooms last Wednesday.
